We’re updating the playlists to Modern Warfare 2 for Xbox 360. The update will bring the triumphant return of a dedicated Capture the Flag playlist, in addition to the new Hardcore Moshpit playlist.

Hardcore Moshpit allows you to play Hardcore Domination (YESSSS!), Hardcore Demolition, Hardcore Capture the Flag, and Hardcore Sabotage for the first time in a public playlist; as well as the Hardcore TDM, Hardcore HQ Pro, and Hardcore S&D staples that HC fans already know and love.

These two additions will take the place of the Resurgence playlists, since they are now integrated into all modes.

Note that this playlist update is currently only on Xbox 360 but will be made for Playstation and Steam users in a week or so (due to the Resurgence Package and corresponding playlists having only recently been added to PSN and PC).

Players should be seeing the playlist update hit their boxes in the next hour or so (depending on location, as it takes time to prop to everyone). Jump online, and enjoy!

Check out this Modern Warfare 2 ‘little old lady on Underpass’ easter egg. If you shoot a certain number of bullets into the four corners of a particular door on Underpass, then throw a flash grenade at the door… wait for it… an old lady opens the door and walks out to complain about the noise, then shoots you in your ass!

Wow… Check out this video of all the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer maps/locations. “Why would I want to see the locations, I’ve been playing the game for months and I’ve seen them all many, many times” – I hear you ask! Well, what’s special about this video is the way the videos creator, @Telixion, uses an awesome transition technique to switch seamlessly from location to location.

It’s hard to be angry about paying $15 for another mix of new and old maps in the Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence map pack when the Funhaus is staring you right in the face, now is it? Let’s visit the carnival!

Sure, Vacant and Strike are rehashes of old Modern Warfare maps, but look at those three new ones! Surely the whimsy of the expansive Carnival map is worth your 1200 Microsoft points by itself, and Trailer Park brings back so many glorious memories that I think I might just go be sick.

And then there’s Fuel! Actually I don’t link Fuel. Not enough clowns, perhaps.

So really, what you’ll be paying for is two exciting new maps, two exciting old maps, and one new map I don’t particularly care for. If that isn’t a bargain, I don’t know what is.
